Following on from last night’s announcement regarding the postponement of the second round of the 2020 Irish Drift Series, it is with deep regret and a heavy heart that I must announce that the previously rescheduled event (IDS Round 2) which was due to take place tomorrow, will now no longer be taking place.
Please rest assured that I have fought tooth and nail in an attempt to ensure the remaining rounds of the 2020 Irish Drift Series could go ahead as planned, but due to confusion regarding the official interpretation of national sporting events taking place under Level 3, the decision that that been forced upon me today, albeit not a decision made lightly, is one that simply must be taken in order to protect the future of the Irish Drift Series and all involved parties.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the Irish drift community – staff, volunteers, drivers, crew, media & fans – for their continued support and understanding through what has already been an incredibly difficult year. Without the support of you all, persevering this year would have been a far more difficult task, so I thank you for that.
I would like to finish out by apologising to everyone who was looking forward to competing at or tuning in to our event this weekend, and also to once again thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding this season.
Best regards & health to all,
