Dear IDS fans,
As you all know, the rapid escalation of the Covid-19 virus has lead to some of the World’s biggest events being cancelled or postponed.
I, with the help of my team at the Irish Drift Series, have been actively monitoring the ever-evolving situation and working with our venue partners to ensure that we are prepared for all eventualities.
While it is never our plan to change event dates, the health and safety of our fans, drivers and their crew, media personnel and our own staff will always come first and we take that responsibility very seriously.
Following on from the Irish Government’s most recent address, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our season-opening event which was due to take place in Watergrasshill on April 25th & 26th.
This event will now take centre stage on October 17th & 18th where we will bring the season to a close in front of a packed house in Kartworld, Watergrasshill. Not only that, for the first time in Irish drift history we will crown both our Pro & Pro-am Champions under the lights in Cork, Ireland’s drift capital.
With the change of date of the Watergrasshill now making it our season finale, we will now be kicking off the 2020 IDS season on June 27th & 28th in Mondello Park in what will be a highly anticipated return to competitive drifting.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our fans and drivers for their continued show of support during these uncertain times. We will continue to work hard behind the scenes to ensure we bring you the most action-packed season of Irish Drifting to date, and I cannot wait to see you all when IDS 2020 gets underway in Mondello Park this June.
Thank you all once again for your understanding,
