Due to new restrictions placed on public events in Co. Kildare (including Mondello Park), we are now in the process of rescheduling Round 1 of the Irish Drift Series, set to take place on August 22nd. These new restrictions are due to end at midnight on August 21st, but as this is the night before Round 1, it is too tight a timeframe for IDS to be comfortable with. Driver and fan safety is always our number one concern, so Mondello Park have agreed that a rescheduled event date later in the year is not an issue. This mean the 2020 Irish Drift Series calendar now stands as:
- Round 1 – September 18th
- Round 2 – October 10th
- Round 3 – TBC
As you can all imagine, Mondello Park have only received this news today, so will inform us of this alternate Round 3 event date as soon as possible. We understand that this is another unfortunate announcement and delayed start, but we are 100% confident that the 2020 IDS season will happen behind closed doors this year, one way or the other.
We are still selling our IDS competition tickets to fund this year’s livestream broadcast on the Irish Drift Series website and have just 280 remaining at this time. We appreciate all of your patience and support during these difficult times.
A delayed start, but more time to build the anticipation.
